High Five!

I am known at my school for having great classroom management. I know how to run a classroom with well-devised procedures and high expectations. After all, I have been teaching for going on twenty years. Why fix what ain't broke, right? That is what I thought until I saw my fellow colleague, teammate, first year teacher, do her thing. I will be the first to admit that I have been using many of the same tactics for classroom management since day one. And they work! But times are changing and, as an educator in the 21st century, so should I. How often do you take the time to get to know your students? Really get to know them? Students' Digital Footprints

How do you go about teaching students about their digital footprint and use of the internet? With today's 21st century students, educators need to begin teaching digital citizenship at younger and younger ages. But how? This free PowerPoint goes through the fundamentals of what is appropriate, safe, and expected when going online. About Me

Welcome to my first blog entry! I'm McCrawGirl. I am a wife, mother, educator, and now blogger. My goal for this site is to empower, encourage, and reflect on what is happening in my classroom. I feel, as educators, we learn best from each other. This blog is going to be an honest representation of what worked, what didn't, and everything in between. I hope you will be able to get new ideas, as well as share with me what you do in your classrooms. Cannot wait to see where this will lead!
