I am known at my school for having great classroom management. I know how to run a classroom with well-devised procedures and high expectations. But times are changing and, as an educator in the 21st century, so should I. How often do you take the time to get to know your students? Really get to know them? I have conversations with them daily, yes. I ask how their weekend was or if they won their baseball game, yes. But do I validate them daily?
